On October 16, 2023, Chairman Yan Shengjun of China Tianying welcomed the visit of Zhao Lixiang, Deputy Secretary and Mayor of Zhangye City, at the company's headquarters. They were accompanied by Deputy Mayor An Weiguo, Secretary-General Yang Yulin from the Municipal Government, and Vice Chairman Zhang Jie from the Energy Investment Professional Committee of the China Investment Association.
Accompanied by CNTY President Cao Debiao, Mayor Zhao Lixiang and his delegation visited China Tianying's world’s first 100MWh gravity energy storage project located in Rudong, Jiangsu Province, and gained a detailed understanding of the project progress.
During the subsequent meeting, both parties held discussions on accelerating the construction of the Zhangye gravity energy storage project and deepening cooperation. They also reached a consensus on future collaboration. Vice President Lu Ping of China Tianying and Chairman of Jiangsu Nengying reported on the progress of the Zhangye gravity energy storage project (Phase 1). Currently, the project has completed the construction of the underground B3 and B2 levels, with plans to complete the main structure by November 2024.
Chairman Yan Shengjun warmly welcomed Mayor Zhao Lixiang and his delegation, expressing sincere gratitude for the concern and support from the Zhangye Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government. He stated that China Tianying will utilize advanced technology and strong industrial capabilities to continue promoting the implementation of the Zhangye Phase 2 project. They will actively participate in the investment and construction of the Zhangye Million-kilowatt Zero-Carbon Park project, contributing China Tianying's green power to the high-quality development of Zhangye's economy and society.
Mayor Zhao Lixiang expressed gratitude for China Tianying's support to the local economic and social development of Zhangye. He stated that the Zhangye gravity energy storage project, as a demonstration project at the provincial level in Gansu Province, is progressing rapidly and has laid a solid foundation for cooperation between the two parties. The on-site visit has strengthened confidence in deepening cooperation. He hoped that China Tianying would fully leverage its role as a leader in technology research and development and professional talent, supporting the local needs with its corporate capabilities. Together, they can promote the establishment of the Energy Storage Material Industrial Park, Wind-Solar-Hydrogen-Ammonia Storage Base, and Generation-Grid-Load-Integration Base projects in Zhangye. This collaboration will contribute to achieving the “3060” Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality goals.
